It is my
pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of the Socialist
Republic of Viet Nam in New Zealand, where you can get an insight into the
operation of the Embassy and have a greater understanding about Viet Nam with a
population of more than 90 million, home to UNESCO Natural and Cultural
Heritages and a fast-growing economy – an attractive destination to visit and
do business.
Viet
Nam and New Zealand established diplomatic
relations on 19 June 1975. The two countries have a strong history of
cooperation and the relationship is going from strength to strength across the
trade, political and security spectrum. Ties between our people are the
foundation of Vietnam-New Zealand friendship and a vibrant partnership in the
future.
Growing
personal connections reinforce the warmth of the bilateral friendship. Nearly
3,000 Vietnamese students study in New Zealand and numbers are
expected to rise. New Zealand
received more than 8,000 Vietnamese visitors in 2017, and Vietnam remains a popular destination for New Zealand
tourists, with more than 29,000 in 2017.
The
website of the Embassy will keep visitors updated on the country and
people of Viet Nam, Viet Nam - New Zealand relationship as well as activities
